As a former member of Army Special Forces and current healthcare provider in a global pandemic, I find myself, like many of my peers inundated with chaos. I am a seeker of optimization in chaos. As a former Green Beret, we were trained to master chaos to adegree in order to remain calm under fire and accomplish the mission. However, despite my ability to perform in the moment, I found myself weighed down with life after the fight was over. Then I discovered yoga. A deep dive into yoga and its principles showed me how to shed my excess weight, freeing my soul enough to be able to continue to serve. This blog was born during a global pandemic where I found myself on another front line, right here at home, managing the effects of COVID-19 as a full-time paramedic. I no longer needed to go overseas to find chaos, it is all around me just as it is all around you. The articles in the blog outline some of my story and continued experience managing the chaos associated with life and death, all the while not loosing myself in the process. Namaste.
